Digital Cameras for Children
Getting children interested in digital cameras and photography can lead them to a lifelong hobby, but you’ll want to introduce them to it early and get them the right kind of camera. They have to have a camera that will take pictures well enough for them to see that they can do something great, but they also have to have a camera that is easy enough for them to work without becoming confused and frustrated. If they are given something that’s too difficult, they won’t want to use it like they should and they won’t enjoy photography because they’ll feel as though it’s too complex for them.
Children need things that build their self-esteem, and photography can do that but only if they can really get involved in it. You can start them off very young if you want to, with the Little Tikes My Real Digital Camera. It’s for beginners age three and up, so you can get your little photographer started early. It holds four AAA batteries, and with heavy use they’ll last around a month. The camera can also hold one thousand pictures, so your little one won’t have to worry about the camera filling up too fast. The resolution isn’t all that high, but this is true with most children’s cameras, so it’s to be expected.
As your child gets a bit older, he or she can move up to a more complicated camera.
