Digital Cameras at 50 Megapixels
It wasn’t that long ago that two or three mega pixels was impressive in a digital camera. Now, however, there are cameras that can do much better than that. It’s possible to get fifty mega pixels in some of the high-end cameras today, but you’ll have to pay for that, of course. You can’t just walk into your local chain retailer and buy one of these off of the shelf, because they are for serious photographers who are willing to spend a lot of money on their equipment and who use it often.
These cameras can cost as much as forty thousand dollars, and that puts them out of reach for people who aren’t professionals unless they’re rich and just want to fund an expensive hobby. The idea that they are available, though, is a great one for serious photographers and for those who are trying to get into the world of professional photography but who aren’t quite there yet. It gives them hope that they will be able to afford these kinds of cameras in the future and that, as technology advances, the cost of them will start to come down, as well.
They will probably never be in the $100 to $500 range, but they will probably cost significantly less than $40,000 in the foreseeable future.
